Some people with COVID-19 have symptoms that last for months or longer. They are sometimes called “long-haulers”, and long-term COVID-19 is also called PASC (post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2).
The most common long-term symptoms are:
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath
- Cough
- Joint pain
- Chest pain
Long-term COVID-19 can happen to anyone, even if they didn’t have severe COVID-19 symptoms. The best way to prevent it is to avoid getting COVID-19 in the first place.
